AHRQ Revises Tips to Help Hospitals Improve Patient Safety
Posted: 2/2/2010 The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality has revised its resource of 10 evidence-based tips and tools to prevent adverse events from occurring in hospitals. New additions include resources to reduce hospital readmissions, prevent hospital-acquired venous thromboembolism, educate patients about using blood thinners safely, use evidence-based principles for hospital design, and working with Patient Safety Organizations.

IHI Releases the “IHI Improvement Map” Resource for Improvement Information
Posted: 10/20/2009 The Institute for Healthcare Improvement recently released a free on-line tool to assist users in accessing the IHI Improvement Map components for identifying process improvements that can lead to better patient outcomes. The tool provides users with the ability to create an improvement plan, set and align priorities, and obtain a knowledge base in the focus areas chosen within the Improvement Map.
